Why Seattle will win
So what is missing? Given its offensive firepower, why is Seattle a fighting 1-2 rather than a dominant 3-0?
The defense wasn’t much fun. Everyone throws without problems – the secondary allowed well over 300 yards in each of the last two games – and Derrick Henry ripped off a monster game in week 2.
San Francisco doesn’t have enough healthy and productive backs to get the ground attack going, and the passing game is workable, but it’s not dangerous enough to worry about.
As long as the passing game downfield in Seattle can fire its shots without Russell Wilson having to hurry, production will be there.
The 49ers don’t take the ball away and give up hasty yards in pieces. Everything should be there for Seattle to use, but …

Why San Francisco Will Win
The Seattle defense was a disaster.
It’s the last in the league in allowed yards, it gets killed at all stages and doesn’t take the ball away enough to matter.
San Francisco may not be offensively scary, but the whole thing works with a crazy mix of things going on to keep things moving. Kyle Shanahan and the coaching staff invent ways to move the chains, but they may not have to be as creative against this D as they usually do.
However, prepare for more Trey Lance and mobility, and make sure Jimmy Garoppolo is very, very thoughtful and embracing the games there. He won’t have to force anything – the O won’t flip the ball, and it won’t this week.

What will happen
Seattle will push and keep trying to crank the big games to break the drip, drip, drip of the 49er offensive.
It won’t be that spectacular, but San Francisco will group third down attempts, check the clock and score whenever there is a chance of a decent drive – the O is fantastic in the red zone.
