The body of a Florida woman, who disappeared more than a week ago, had been found inside her septic tank – and her handyman has been arrested for murder.

Police began searching the tank for Cynthia Cole, 57, a few hours after arresting her handyman Keoki Hilo Demich on Friday night.

After several hours of excavation, her body was discovered submerged in the cesspool, buried in her backyard in the 4500 block of NE Skyline Drive in Jensen Beach.

Demich, 34, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder.

Cole, who went by Cyndi, had been missing for over a week and was last seen February 24 at a Jammin Jensen event.

Demich had been hired by Cole to be her handyman for the last few years.

He was the only person investigators were suspicious of after she was reported missing.

‘He made several statements that we know are false so he was charged with second-degree murder,’ said Martin County Sheriff William Snyder.

Snyder added that Ring cameras and security footage near Cole’s home show Demich exiting Cole’s car near Demich’s home in Stuart on the same night when Cole was last seen.

There were several other instances of cameras catching Demich near Cole’s vehicle, according to Snyder.

After several hours of digging, they eventually pulled Cole’s body out of the septic tank early Saturday morning.

‘I’ve been doing this 40 plus years. I’ve never seen anything like it,’ Snyder said.

Meanwhile, Snyder said detectives are still collecting evidence and added that Demich could face additional charges.

Evidence collected thus far suggests that Cole was likely murdered in her home before her body was placed in the septic tank.

The body has yet to be positively identified by the medical examiner’s office, however authorities say they have every reason to believe that they discovered Cole’s body.

After police were notified, they began looking for answers about Cole’s whereabouts. This included searching her home. When they arrived at the property, they didn’t see any signs of a struggle, but they did notice a shotgun in a bedroom. Eventually, they learned that it had been given to her by Jason Garland, a handyman that Cole had employed. When asked about the gun, Garland said that he had given it to her because she had been “afraid” but didn’t elaborate.

During the search, officials also found her cell phone. Later, they retrieved text messages between Cole and Demich, another handyman who had completed work for her. One message, in particular, that was sent after the concert stated that she would call him on Saturday. It also revealed that she had sent him some money through Cash App. However, when they looked through Demich’s phone, they could not locate the text, leading them to believe that it had been deleted.

Demich denied being at Cole’s home, despite Lyft account data showing that he had taken a ride from his home to hers on February 24 at 7:06 PM.

The body of a Florida woman was found by deputies in a septic tank buried in her backyard, and her handyman has been charged with killing her, authorities said Saturday.

Investigators in Jensen Beach, Florida found a body believed to be that of Cynthia Cole, submerged in the septic tank 4 feet (1.2 meters) underground after hours of excavating her back yard late Friday, the Martin County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.

Shortly after finding the body, deputies arrested her handyman, Keoki Hilo Demich, who was charged with second-degree murder. Cole, 57, had been missing for more than a week.

No further details were provided. Jensen Beach is almost 50 miles (80 kilometers) north of West Palm Beach.

“There are elements to this case still being investigated,” the post said. “We will update the community with additional information as it becomes available.”

There was no online court record available for Demich, so it was unknown if he had an attorney.

It may be the Cowboys and 49ers in the postseason, but it isn’t your ’90s rivalry. Dak Prescott vs Jimmy Garoppolo isn’t Troy Aikman vs Steve Young.

The teams are the same, but the themes and the styles of each are definitely different.

What storylines and players should Dallas Cowboys fans keep an eye on this week from a San Francisco perspective? Here’s a look at five of them:

The Niners shouldn’t be here

Or, at least, the odds were incredibly against San Francisco making the playoffs. San Francisco started the season 3-5, and though playoff odds at that point were an afterthought, the percentages couldn’t have been high. San Francisco went on a 6-2 run, setting up – what turned out to be – a win or go home final game against the Rams.

The odds were against the Niners winning that final game, as well.

When the 49ers punted with 1:57 left on Sunday and trailing by a touchdown, there was a 0.4 percent chance the 49ers would beat the Rams. They needed to force a three-and-out, score on a game-tying drive to force overtime and ultimately win with their new OT life.

The Niners did eventually come back to win – after coming back from down 17 point earlier – marking the lowest probability victory by any team since 2016.

It took a lot for San Francisco to make the postseason. It also took the Cowboys winning and Seattle beating the Cardinals in Week 18 to set up a matchup between the two clubs. The odds were low, but here we are.

49ers’ physical priority

Before San Francisco’s game against the Rams, the term “body bag game” was used by many of the 49ers. The point: both teams were going to be so physical in that game, that one team was leaving in a metaphorical body bag.

In a time where the passing game is king, the 49ers can be unique. Head coach Kyle Shanahan told Fox Sports analyst Troy Aikman that he wanted to run the ball 40 times or more on Sunday against the Rams, but they’d settle for 30. They finished with 30 carries for 135 yards.

Perhaps the best testament to the 49ers’ affinity for running the ball is what they did on the opening drive of a win over the Jacksonville Jaguars this season. The 49ers consumed 13 minutes and five seconds of play clock in 20 plays, ultimately settling for a short Robbie Gould field goal.

It’s the way the 49ers run the ball that makes them a physical matchup, as well. Kyle Juszczyk, a Harvard alum, was the most used fullback in the NFL in 2020, according to Next Gen Stats, and had a similar workload this past season. Pro Bowl tight end George Kittle has been known to laugh maniacally when he makes pancake blocks.

After Sunday’s win over the Rams, Kittle told reporters that some Rams players started “chirping” at him when the Rams were up 17-0.

“We’re putting you in a body bag Kittle,” the Niners tight end recalled hearing.

He then ended his media availability with this: “I hope I can see them again, because that was a fun body bag game.”

If the Dallas defense wants to avoid a body bag game, it’ll have to shut down the run first. The Cowboys are allowing 4.5 yards per carry and have surrendered the third-most 20-plus yard runs in the league.

Injury watch

The biggest injury storyline last week for the 49ers was whether starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo was healthy enough to play. Two weeks before he had suffered a torn ligament in his throwing thumb. Garoppolo eventually played for the Niners and threw for over 300 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in the comeback win.

Garoppolo’s injury stole headlines in the week, but it might not have been the most significant. Pro Bowl left tackle Trent Williams missed Sunday’s game against the Rams with an elbow injury.

If Williams can’t play against Dallas it’ll be a significant loss for the 49ers. Williams finished the regular season with the highest Pro Football Focus grade ever given (98.2). He also had the highest run-block grade in the league among offensive linemen.

Second-year lineman Colton McKivitz starts at Williams place against the Rams.

The 49ers also previously lost starting right tackle Mike McGlinchey for the season due to injury, but backup Tom Compton has played well for them.

Another injury of note: 49ers slot corner K’Wuan Williams was inactive against the Rams this past Sunday. He’s been a key player for the Niners in a secondary that could use him (but more on that later).

Mr. Do-It-All

Cowboys fans didn’t get the chance to see 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel in Dallas’ win last season. This time, they should see a lot of him.

Samuel earned his first trip to the Pro Bowl after a monster season. He finished the regular season with 77 receptions for 1,402 yards and six touchdowns. That, in itself, would be enough to earn the spotlight of the Cowboys’ defense on Sunday. But Samuel also had eight rushing touchdowns this season, breaking the record for most by a wide receiver. The 6-foot, 215-pound South Carolina alum was touted as a running back in a wide receiver’s body when he was drafted three years ago. This season, the 49ers took that to heart, lining him up at running back often.

Samuel even threw a touchdown pass in Sunday’s win over Los Angeles.

If there’s one 49ers player Cowboys fans should keep an eye on Sunday, it’s Samuel.

San Francisco’s vulnerability

The Cowboys’ biggest strength might be its high-powered passing attack. Good news, Dallas fans: that matches up well with the 49ers’ biggest weak point.

Most of the defensive statistics are good for a 49ers defense that finished third in total yards allowed per game, but one of the most telling numbers for San Francisco is how many defensive pass interferences it’s allowed. The Niners lead the league with 20 defensive pass interferences called against them for a whopping 367 yards. The next worst team, Tampa Bay, has had 14.

Dallas, on the other hand, has had 14 defensive pass interferences called while on offense. That’s the second most in the league, giving the Cowboys an extra 154 yards of offense this season.

CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper and Cedrick Wilson are a tough ask for any secondary, especially San Francisco’s. That’ll be even truer if Williams is out for a second straight week.

A handyman is facing second-degree murder charges after a missing Florida woman’s body was found in her backyard septic tank, the Miami Herald reports.

Investigators found the body of Cynthia Cole, 57, submerged four feet underground inside the septic tank of her home in Jensen Beach, Florida, about 50 miles north of West Palm Beach.

The discovery comes just two days after Cole was reported missing. She was last seen at a community music and arts event known as the Jammin’ Jensen in Downtown Jensen Beach on Feb. 24.

Shortly after finding Cole’s body, police arrested her handyman, 34-year-old Keoki Hilo Demich, who has been charged with second-degree murder.

“The first person that we really came across that was of interest was a person she had known, as far we know, for years. It was a handyman, somebody who just helped her,” Martin County Sheriff William Snyder told reporters this weekend. “She was a single woman alone, he helped her.”

Snyder added, “Fairly soon after we began talking to him, we became suspicious. We got so suspicious we started doing almost around the clock surveillance.”

According to Snyder, security footage showed Demich exiting Cole’s car near Demich’s home the same night that Cole was last seen.

“It was probably as challenging a crime scene as I’ve ever seen,” Snyder said. I’ve been doing this 40 plus years. I’ve never seen anything like it. None of us had any experience in recovering evidence from a septic tank. It took us all night.”

Snyder believes robbery could’ve been a possible motive.

Club Fugazi has grown into a jazz and poetry cabaret, with performers reading rousing lines from the beats before diving through a dangling hoop, each acrobat doing the twists and turns of the jump with his or her unique showmanship and aura zhushing leaves.

In another moment, the newly renovated North Beach venue has turned into a playground for someone with insect skills when a performer hops around the inner perimeter of the gleaming white proscenium – up the wall, then upside down, supported by fellow cast members.

In yet another scene, the former home of “Beach Blanket Babylon” became a place of performance art. Audio from a “Maltese Falcon” scene is played while the actors Devin Henderson and Natasha Patterson dance out the sexual tension with full-body affairs and convulsions that Mary Astor and Humphrey Bogart limit in the film to glances and trembling voices – all while juggling up to five sparkling pearls the size of a crystal ball.

This is the next chapter in the Bay Area circus heralded by Dear San Francisco: A High-Flying Love Story, the new show from Shana Carroll and Gypsy Snider, co-founders of Montreal’s famous The 7 Fingers.

San Francisco Mayoress, London Breed, greeted the audience on Tuesday October 12th, which was only exposed to hold the introduction of what she quipped that she had received permission from the Department of Health – and hailed the opening night as a turning point in the city’s fight against COVID-19.

“That will be a long time coming,” she said. “We have been in the house for almost two years.”

Dear San Francisco is a suitable flagship for the reopening of the arts. Presented as Valentine’s to the city, the show includes readings of actual love letters to the city, some anonymous, some from celebrities, others from the viewers each evening. Often these charming missives skilfully turn into action. A letter that says, “Thank you for being the place I felt safe to come out of,” doesn’t inspire a hand-to-trap (short for hand-to-trapezoids, a shape Carroll invented) with not -heterosexual pairings and groups.

But sometimes the potted homages to the city feel better for the tourist crowd, who may be trying to validate their pre-existing stereotypes of San Francisco, than for the fine art that the rest of the show aspires to. There are filler lines about how expensive the city is, how hard it is to find a parking space; it’s about psychedelic drugs, how many types of milk there are, and the fearful people trying to choose between them.

In any case, the athleticism, precision and inventiveness of the actors quickly overshadow any brick.

Enmeng Song on the diabolo, which is derived from the Chinese yo-yo, can create the illusions of floating and locomotion; he can tear the axis of his device off the cord and then lasso it again in midair.

Junru Wang, who balances upside down on very tall stools, each as wide as the palm of a hand, appears to have radial symmetry, like a starfish; You’re looking directly at them, of course, but it’s like seeing them swimming in the ocean from a bird’s eye view.

The lavishly structured sound design by Jake Rodriguez only amplifies this effect; You can practically imagine how individual waves comb.

When you see circus in an intimate setting, you can see again how much power, discipline and grace there is in every effect – the way acrobats do with seemingly little more than a breathless breath, a look up and a wish then climb a trapeze; the way pectoral and even facial muscles twitch when one performer lifts two others onto their shoulders; how diaphragms pump in search of more oxygen.

You can feel the effects too. When artists land, with a boom or a pop, the reverberation sometimes ripples all the way to your seat.

Ultimately, “Dear San Francisco” is a love letter not only to the city, but also to the human body, reminding even the less supple among us that our arms and legs are tools and shapes that we may forget to use creatively .

As sleek and smart as Alexander V. Nichols’ production design is with its frequent use of projections, “Dear San Francisco” is refreshingly low-tech, with performers often contributing their own singing voices and instruments – accordion, banjo, drum. They express art and life in everything they touch: a pole, a teeterboard, a straw hat set, a unicycle, a telephone booth become small miracles.

A body found on the Pacifica coast in June has been confirmed to be that of Jean Chang Kan Fung, an 84-year-old woman reported missing in San Francisco, police said Thursday.

Fung went missing on May 28 after leaving her home in the Richmond neighborhood for a walk.

On June 10, a female body was found along the coast in the Pedro Point area of ​​Pacifica. This week, the San Mateo County Coroner Office identified the woman as a Fung.

The police had described Fung as at risk due to her age and illness.

On the day she went missing, Fung met a California Highway Patrol officer at the Presidio who was taking her to a Safeway grocery store in the city’s Marina District. Although Fung only spoke Toisanese and Cantonese, the officer used a voice app on her phone to communicate with her.

The official said Fung did not seem disoriented or in need.

Fung’s family reported her missing later that night, police said.

Following Fung’s disappearance, San Francisco District Attorney Chesa Boudin said her case highlighted the need for more options for people who don’t speak English and need immediate help.
