MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO-TV) – Winter is just around the corner, which means the Minnesotans will be cranking up the heat. This winter could be challenging for those who have old or broken stoves due to global supply chain issues.

As in many industries, the supply of ovens and their parts is secured. The pandemic is to blame.

None of us have experienced this supply chain problem,” said Andy Ryan, president of Homeworks Plumbing, Heating, and Air in Eagan, Minnesota. “This is hopefully a one-off problem that we can all face, take care of, and hopefully never happen again.”

With cooler temperatures, now is the time to make sure your oven is ready to use.

“We always recommend that our customers do their annual furnace polls,” said Ryan. “So if you haven’t hired yet, call Homeworks, call another company. Get someone to watch this. Get the status of your heating system. To make sure it is safe, it works properly and works efficiently. “

It is possible to wait months to get the oven you want. Homeworks has done its best to replenish inventory to address the supply chain problem. But prices keep rising.

“Every month that goes by, prices go up. This year alone we’ve seen five price increases for ovens and air conditioners, ”said Ryan. “That’s why we recommend our customers that the earlier they buy, the more likely it is that they will pay a lower price, the longer they wait, the higher the costs will be.”

To keep your wallet full and your home warm, it is better to act sooner.

“The worst thing you can do in Minnesota, which is just around the corner, is minus 20 degrees without being stuck in the heat and having to pick an inferior product,” said Ryan.
