94-year-old Asian lady stabbed a number of occasions in apparently unprovoked San Francisco assault, police say

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) – Police arrested a man in San Francisco on Wednesday suspected of stabbing a 94-year-old Asian woman.
At around 10.15 a.m., officials responded to reports of a knife stab in Block 800 on Post Street, according to the San Francisco Police Department.
Upon arrival, the officers found that the woman had suffered multiple stab wounds.

She was taken to a local hospital, where officials say she is expected to survive.
At around 11:45 am, police located 35-year-old suspect Daniel Cauich in the 1300 block of Clay Street. He was arrested and charged on the following charges:
- Attempted murder
- Battery with serious injuries
- Elderly abuse Committing a crime on bail or release
- Big improvement in assault
- Parole violation
Although an arrest has been made, it remains an active and open investigation. “At this point, however, the stabbing did not seem to have been provoked,” said the police.

The Mayor of San Francisco, London Breed, posted a statement on Twitter following the arrest of the SFPD in which he said in part. “This kind of violence is unacceptable and has no place in our city.”
