A whole bunch of San Francisco bars to require proof of vaccination or destructive take a look at

Hundreds of bars in the San Francisco area will soon require proof of vaccination or negative coronavirus tests from customers who want to have a drink indoors.
The San Francisco Bar Owner Alliance, a coalition of more than 500 bars, on Monday recommended its members require customers to show vaccination cards or a 72-hour negative COVID-19 test starting Thursday.
Customers sitting outside don’t have to do this.
The industry group said it was extremely concerned about the increase in cases among staff, “especially those who are fully vaccinated”.
The group said it interviewed members before pushing the decision, with 85 percent of facilities agreeing to the move.

“This decision is based solely on our need to protect our employees, customers and their families. However, we hope that this could also influence some who have not yet been vaccinated to do so as soon as possible, ”the group said in a statement.
“We understand that only through higher vaccination rates among our residents, not just in San Francisco but in the United States, can our society (and our businesses) ever return to normal,” the group said
Each bar will be responsible for deciding how best to enforce the rules.
The decision is made as COVID-19 cases have risen nationwide and have nearly tripled in the past two weeks as the Delta variant circulates across the country. Further reports have come of breakthrough cases in fully vaccinated individuals as the highly transmissible variety became the predominant strain in the United States
