To celebrate ‘25 Years of Serving Silicon Valley’s Movers & Shakers,’ Birk’s will host an exclusive, invitation-only Anniversary Celebration Event Thursday, March 13, 2014. Proceeds will go toward supporting the 49ers Foundation, whose mission is “Keeping Kids Safe, On Track, and In School.”
“A 25-year anniversary in the restaurant business is a milestone rare in the culinary industry,” said David Whitcomb, Birk’s owner, “especially in this highly competitive region where you find some of the finest restaurants and chefs in the world. Our goal has always been, simply, to serve the best food we can create, in a stylish atmosphere where our guests feel comfortable and welcome. We could not have reached this point without our truly excellent staff and loyal customers.”
Birk’s notable past chefs and VIPs, including Don Durante (Cin-Cin Wine Bar & Restaurant, Los Gatos and and Cascal, Mtn. View), Jim Stump (Los Gatos Brewery, Los Gatos and San Jose locations, The Table, Willow Glen), and Antonio Florez Lopez (Cascal Restaurant, Mtn. View); 49ers Alumni, and long-time supporters and vendors from Ketel One, Beam Brands, Firestone Walker Brewery, Domaine Chandon, Coppola, Constellation, and several other fine winemakers, will be among the distinguished guests celebrating Birk’s milestone. ”Times 4” will entertain with their ebullient jazz sound while guests savor Birk’s signature dishes including fresh-shucked oysters, famous crab cakes and calamari, grilled artichokes, wood-grilled steak bites, prime rib sliders, truffle fries, and the creatively indulgent dessert bar.
Whitcomb added: “I can’t think of a better way to celebrate this proud occasion than with Birk’s longtime patrons, good friends and supporters, who have helped us build our reputation into a Silicon Valley icon. It’s a great feeling to know that our 25th celebration event will not only be a fantastic party, but also an opportunity for us to help give back to this community which has been our home for the past quarter century.”
Birk’s has always been a big city eatery and the model setting for both the business lunch and intimate gathering. Its atmosphere, designed by internationally renowned designer Pat Kuleto, evokes the spirit of San Francisco eateries, with modern day touches incorporating a one-of-a-kind, custom built, exhibition split grill and black–iron broiler. Birk’s chefs strive to engineer eclectic menus of American specialties seasoned with innovative Western and California influences.
Throughout March, Birk’s will be offering its patrons special promotions around its 25th anniversary, including select $25 menu items and $25 California wine pairings, $25 gift certificates for 25-year-old Birk’s customers to use on their next visit, happy hour food and specialty drink specials including 25¢ wings, Birk’s “89er” Anniversary cocktail, and more.
