Cal Fireplace Crews Attain 80% Containment on Fremont Fireplace Close to Napa-Sonoma County Line – CBS San Francisco
SONOMA COUNTY (CBS SF) – Cal Fire crews in the North Bay have made progress on the fire in Fremont, near the township of Schellville, Wednesday night, according to authorities.
Crews of the Sonoma-Lake-Napa Cal Fire Unit met a scar around 2:30 p.m. on the so-called Fremont Fire near Fremont Drive and Napa Road in the unincorporated community of Schellville near the Napa-Sonoma County Line and the site of the fire left by the nun fire in 2017.

The fire also caused some traffic delays on Highway 121 going west due to smoke.

By 3:30 p.m., the fire had grown to 40 acres, according to Cal Fire. Both Cal Fire and Napa County Fire provided air support with planes and helicopters that dropped water and fire retardants.

The Napa County Sheriff said smoke may be visible in the area, but no other threats have been identified and no evacuations have been ordered.

Wildfire Approaches Napa Co.

At 5 p.m., a deputy fire chief of the Schellville Fire Department said the fire had grown to over 50 acres. There have been some reports that the fire had grown up to 100 acres.
By just before 7 p.m., the fire had grown to 116 acres but was 80% contained, according to Cal Fire officials.

Residents in the area are asked to stay indoors and close doors and windows to prevent smoke from entering homes.
