Credo Magnificence opens first Chicago retailer
Credo Beauty this month opened its fifth US retail location in Chicago at 1659 N Damen Ave in Bucktown. The new store joins Credo locations in San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York City.
The San Francisco-based beauty retailer opens its Bucktown store just months after the passing of CEO Shashi Batra. The Credo Beauty founder passed away at age 51, leaving behind a legacy in the beauty industry that included building Sephora in North America and serving in leadership roles at Estée Lauder and Victoria’s Secret Beauty.
The 1,415-square-foot location carries as much as 2,000 products from 105 skincare, makeup, hair, fragrance and wellness brands, such as Ursa Major, Nu Evolution, Yuni, Zoe Organics and Goop.
Each product is presented on wooden shelves and fixtures and glass tables that compliment the store’s white columns and white ceiling, dark wood floor and exposed brick walls.
The Bucktown store is also one of three Credo locations to house a Tata Harper Spa, which offers face and body treatments, waxing services, and Tata Harper products.
