Early Reactions: eight Gamers Shifting Up and Down Draft Boards (Fantasy Soccer)

With the first week of preseason in the books, now is the perfect opportunity to highlight who’s value has gone up and down based on what we’ve seen. While it’s best not to overreact on the basis of just a week, there’s still a need to break down and analyze what happened the first time we looked at each NFL team. So, our featured experts are here to shed some light on which stocks have changed the most after our first dose of NFL action. Read below to see who they upgrade and demote in their rankings.

Q1. Which player climbs the most in your rankings at the beginning of the preseason? Who are a few players he passed?

Michael Gallup (WR – DAL): Consensus Rank – WR44 | 115th overall ranking
“I think I had Gallup closer to 50 on my first rankings, but he’s now climbed all the way to my low 40s for me. Not only are the reports at camp positive, he also played 60% of his snaps from the slot against the Cardinals, with CeeDee Lamb playing all of his snaps outside. This backs up the early word we heard from Mike McCarthy, suggesting that he will move all three Cowboys receivers throughout the game depending on the matchup. Since Gallup gets snapshots in the valuable slot role, he is quickly approaching WR3 territory for me. I’ll take it over through Corey Davis and Laviska Shenault Jr. “
– Dan Harris (FantasyPros)

Darrell Henderson (RB – LAR): Consensus Rank – RB20 | 41st overall ranking
“Sometimes what a player does NOT do speaks volumes. In the case of Henderson, the fact that Coach McVay has put on record that Henderson will not play in any of the Rams’ preseason games tells you all you need to know about how the Los Angeles coaching staff looks back for the third straight year . The Rams appear to be showing him after Cam Akers lost season. While Akers’ end-of-season injury makes Henderson an obvious climber, his ADP curve just isn’t steep enough. I have him as my RB15, ahead of D’Andre Swift and Travis Etienne, as the return leader in a high-scoring Rams offensive. “
– Matthew Hill (DataForce Fantasy Football)

Trey Lance (QB – SF): Consensus Rank – QB25 | 190th overall ranking
“Lance has to be the player here, right? While guys like Mac Jones and Justin Fields are fully rooted in QB fighting, Lance could legitimately be the San Francisco starter in Week 1 over Jimmy Garoppolo. In his second game since January 11th, he showed his arm talent and we still haven’t seen what he can do with his legs in the NFL. Lance is steadily improving my ranking with the potential to start the season and I would take him over now, ahead of Baker Mayfield, Kirk Cousins and Ryan Fitzpatrick. “
– Kyle Yates (Fantasy Pros)

Javonte Williams (RB – DEN): Consensus Rank – RB27 | 63rd overall ranking
“Williams is going to have to get a bump. He looked explosive and confident this weekend and would have had a TD if Jerry Jeudy hadn’t had a terrible block. Williams bumped into me before Myles Gaskin, Darrell Henderson and Kareem Hunt. All of these guys have crowded backfields like Williams, but they don’t have Williams’ investment capital from their organization. “
– Joe Pisapia (FantasyPros)

Q2. Which player drops the most in your ranking at the start of the preseason? Which players do you like more than him now?

DJ Moore (WR – CAR): Consensus Rank – WR18 | 42nd overall ranking
“I love Moore’s talent and I’m still optimistic about him in the dynasty. However, 2021 is a different story. With a healthy Christian McCaffery, Robby Anderson, who is back for his sophomore year in Carolina after his first 1,000-yard season (95 catches for 1,096 yards), and the addition of Terrace Marshall, one of the draft’s most gifted recipients, becomes Moore Having trouble doing this Find the volume it takes to turn a WR1 season. I have now classified it as my WR20 behind Amari Cooper and Cooper Kupp. “
– Matthew Hill (DataForce Fantasy Football)

Myles Gaskin (RB – MIA): Consensus Rank – RB23 | 47th overall ranking
“Unfortunately, after the game against the Bears this week, Gaskin moved down my rankings significantly. Malcolm Brown played in the starters before him, and Brian Flores’ post-game comments made it sound like Gaskin was playing a role on the committee at best. Up to this point, I had claimed that Gaskin had proven himself over the last year, the coaching staff seemed to trust him, putting him back in the lead after his injury, that he was playing as a receiver from the backcourt, and that the offensive would improve which led to it being undervalued in drafts. But I’m almost tossing it all out the window based on what we’ve seen and heard over the past few days. Gaskin is still a Flex and the first RB in Miami that I am developing, but I will now take my risk with Raheem Mostert or even Michael Carter. “
– Dan Harris (FantasyPros)

Raheem Mostert (RB – SF): Consensus Rank – RB29 | 68th overall
“Mostert was already in my ranks due to his journeyman status and his injury history. But Trey Sermon’s performance on Saturday night further stifled his ranking for me because I believe he is clearly the future of the team in that position and the future is now! I’d rather shoot on the Chase Edmonds and James Connor Cardinals Committee or convene Michael Carter, who has a clearer path to backfield contact with the Jets. “
– Joe Pisapia (FantasyPros)

Ja’Marr Chase (WR – CIN): Consensus Rank – WR26 | 64th overall
“That has less to do with the training camp reports on Chase than with the state of the overall offensive if Joe Burrow doesn’t start the season 100% himself. Chase was very high in my ranking and suffered a slight fall recently. He now stands behind players like Diontae Johnson, Odell Beckham Jr, Tee Higgins and Chase Claypool.
– Kyle Yates (Fantasy Pros)
