EXCLUSIVE: San Francisco man carjacked and kidnapped, compelled to leap out of transferring automotive

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) – A San Francisco man describes what it was like to be mugged, kidnapped, and forced to jump out of a moving car to save his life. One warning – some pictures of this man’s injuries are illustrative.

It’s a story you’ll only see on ABC7.

The 32-year-old man asked not to give his name or show his eyes as he described the turn of events.

The man said he was taking a moment to sit in his Toyota in the Sunset when suddenly a man approached, showed him he had a gun, and ordered him to take the passenger seat. The suspect then drove her around Sunset and requested the victim’s cell phone, credit cards, and jewelry.

At one point the man says the suspect asked about his family and who he is living with. Then the victim says that the man threatened to kill him.

“I was really scared that his gun was like this on my face,” the man said, pointing to his forehead.

At that moment, the man decided to jump out of the car, which was going at a speed of over 30 mph.

“I had no choice, I had no choice. If I don’t do anything, I may die. He’s going to kill me.”

Although the victim is afraid to go outside and unable to work because of the psychological trauma, the victim says he speaks out to enlighten others and apprehend the suspect.

“Be careful if you go to work early or come home late,” he said.

When asked if he felt assaulted because of his race, given the number of attacks on Asian Americans over the past year and a half, he said he believed the attack was random but believes criminals may have targeted the sunset, because there are so many Asians in the area.

A GoFundMe account is available to raise funds for medical expenses and to help the family with the loss of wages while they recuperate. Here you can make a contribution.

A short time later, the police seized the man’s car. No arrests were made. SFPD encourages anyone with information to call their anonymous 24 hour tip number 1-415-575-4444 or send a tip to TIP411 and start texting with SFPD.
