“During an illegal speed show in Barneveld & McKinnon, a passenger with an AK47 leaned out of a Cadi; see photo. The SFPD Traffic Company handled a case and today confiscated this particular vehicle,” the San Francisco Police Department wrote on Twitter, accompanied by photos.

The Cadillac was found and towed away by authorities on Wednesday.

The San Francisco Police Department did not immediately respond to Fox News’ requests for comment on the matter.

The incident came after police reported an increase in shootings and assaults in the city in the first six months of the year.

The city reported 119 fatal and non-fatal shootings in the first six months of 2021, compared to 58 in the first half of last year.

“We’re almost double what we were in the last two years, and that’s a big problem,” Police Chief Bill Scott said in a mid-year report last month.

He added that robberies were going on in the city despite showing viral videos showing people brazenly shoplifting from stores in the city.

In an incident last month, 10 people were seen taking designer handbags from a Nieman Marcus in Union Square and leaving the scene in vehicles waiting for them outside.

The surge in San Francisco shootings is due to the fact that murders in major cities across the country increased by 16%, according to the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ) pandemic crime report.
