The Whole Foods in Los Gatos is slated to move into a new, bigger space on the corner of Los Gatos-Almaden Road and Los Gatos Boulevard in the next few years.
The specialty grocery store currently sits at 15980 Los Gatos Blvd. Developers Sand Hill Property Company said they are planning to build a new, larger store at 15650 Los Gatos Blvd.
It could open as soon as early 2024, and Sand Hill expects to head to the planning commission for a hearing later this year or early in 2023.
The proposed design for the 40,200-square-foot store has 164 parking stalls, eight EV charging stations and bike parking.
Steve Lynch, the town’s director of planning and entitlements, said Sand Hill Property Company has “knocked on hundreds of doors” and sent “hundreds of letters” to the neighborhoods close to the project.
“Thus far, people have been really supportive of having a new and expanded Whole Foods,” Lynch said.
He said the existing Whole Foods is “fairly old,” and the proposed project will expand things like the hot prepared food and deli sections.
