Chimney Sweep

‘Mary Poppins’ function was to not save the youngsters

The fantastic wife and nanny, Mary Poppins, was created from the brilliant mind of author Pamela Travers, whose personal story led to the creation of her famous one Book series is definitely worth learning about. Even though Mary Poppins becomes the parent figure of the children Jane and Michael, she tackles the overlapping problem of her father’s cold and harsh worldview. The film and story focus on solving the family’s biggest problem: the lack of love and warmth children get from their parents.

The story of Mr. Banks and how he deals with the children

Mr. Banksas his name suggests, works for a financial institution. He works hard and often and doesn’t have much time at home for his children. His wife, Mrs. Banks, is a suffragette and a little insane. She mainly focuses her daily attention on protesting and attending conferences to give women the right to vote. Both parents tend to push their children into the background, which leads them to act frequently. This alone puts the parents on the constant search for a new nanny to send Mary Poppins into their lives.

Mary Poppins sees the solution easily, as does her friend and chimney sweeper, Bert. The problem to be solved is not teaching the children, although they require more discipline.

The new nanny brings joy and playfulness to the children’s lives while apparently only making Mr. Banks more unhappy. His intent is to make sure his children are prepared for how bitter the world can be, but Mary Poppins and Bert show him that childhood is the time they need a “spoonful of sugar” to learn deal with the society around them.

Masterful explanation of how parents can get confused

It is unusual to see films where parents are described as lost or need to learn something. When Mr. Banks gets bad news, he quickly puts the blame on Mary Poppins and his children rather than his own reaction to his them during the bank. Bert, as well as Mary Poppins, explains to Mr.

Banks on how his kids will be doing soon getting too old that their parents help them and they will face the same problems as they grow up.

Although not specifically mentioned in the film, Mr. Banks sympathizes with this thought and understands it based on his own childhood and upbringing. After realizing his absence in his children’s lives, Mr. Banks uses the items he once believed were at the center of his world to fix and date his children’s kite. Mrs. Banks also offers her own suffragette band as cock and as the family goes out, as well as Mary Poppins.

Who is Mary Poppins?

Neither the author nor the film explain to us who this almost mythological figure is and where he comes from.

Mary Poppins remains a mystery to everyone and a person who could possibly be described as an angelic figure who becomes a guardian of children and teaches those who really need help.

In this case, that person was Mr. Banks and Mrs. Banks. Although Ber had a huge role in the film, not much was given to him in the original series PL trusses. Mary Poppins dominates and takes readers into a world of the unexpected as she focuses on solving internalized problems that other characters cannot understand without her direction.

This year we have a new Mary Poppins film in which the nanny visits the grown children. How the film compares to the original is certainly a matter of air.
