Jimmy Garoppolo or Trey Lance to start? That’s one of the biggest questions this year after giving up so much to take him with the 3rd overall win in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Jimmy G is a more than competent QB who keeps her moving, and he looks great when things are going well, but when the team needs him for a game-changing ride, he can’t always be relied on.

He’s also had issues with injuries over the years so problems can arise. Hence, it is very likely that he will start the season before handing over the keys later.

They lost their excellent defensive coordinator in Robert Saleh but they got some big names back due to injuries. Nick Bosa and Arik Armstead make an excellent rush duo, especially when they are backed by Dee Ford.

The O-Line is strengthened with the addition of Alex Mack, and keeping Trent Williams on was a huge coup as well. So expect the 49ers to look more like the team that turned out to be Super Bowl champions.

You start out with two street games, but both are very winnable and it is easy to see that these openers will go 4-0 if they start well.

On the other hand, there is a real chance Jimmy G will be pulled during bye week. Lance could face the Colts in week 7. So it’s a situation to watch out for.
