San Francisco girl discovered stabbed to loss of life in residence, police say

A woman has been found dead with an apparent stab wound in her back after officers carried out a welfare check at a San Francisco home Wednesday morning, according to preliminary police information.
The unnamed woman was found after a property manager called police to report a forced-open front door at a home on Appleton Avenue in the city’s Holly Park neighborhood, just west of Bernal Heights.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her identity was unavailable, pending next-of-kin notification from the city’s Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
San Francisco police have been contacted for further comment.
