San Francisco is reopening indoor eating, gyms and museums

San Francisco is now allow Indoor dining, gyms, museums and cinemas opened to the public after a sharp drop in COVID-19 cases, hospital stays and deaths.
The city and its surrounding areas were the first in the country to impose a lockdown as the coronavirus outbreak began to worsen in the spring of 2020. Some companies were allowed to reopen after cases fell in the summer, but plans to reopen were rolled back in the fall when cases began to rise.

Tuesday, city officials announced San Francisco had met the criteria based on its coronavirus cases, hospital admissions, and other metrics to move to California’s less restrictive red tier and allow indoor activities to reopen with restrictions.
Indoor dining in restaurants, bars serving food, cafes and food courts can now be opened for 25 percent capacity or up to 100 people, whichever is lower. Indoor dining tables are limited to members of a household up to a maximum of four people, and office work must end at 10:00 p.m.
Fitness studios and yoga studios are allowed to open at 10 percent capacity, while museums, zoos and aquariums are allowed to open 25 percent indoors.
Cinemas may reopen with 25 percent capacity or up to 100 people without concessions. Outdoor activities such as recreational sports are now being expanded.
“Thanks to everyone in our city who act responsibly and do their part, we can take another step towards reopening and beginning our recovery,” said the Mayor of San Francisco London Breed (D) in a statement Tuesday.
“This year has been incredibly tough for our residents and small businesses, so every step forward is critical to ensuring they can survive this pandemic. To make sure we can keep moving forward, we all need to stay focused and continue to follow health guidelines, ”Breed said.
