San Francisco plans to renew cable automobile providers quickly, beginning with Powell station

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) – San Francisco’s legendary cable cars will soon be back on the move.

Muni is expected to provide an update during its board meeting on Tuesday.

ABC7 News has learned that the Powell-Hyde route will be the first to resume service this fall.

The cars run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The system needs detailed maintenance before the vehicles can be put back into operation.
