FARGO — A West Fargo woman has been accused of stealing roughly $100,000 from a plumbing company where she worked.

Lisa Michelle Koehmstedt, 51, appeared Friday, Sept. 30, in Cass County District Court on a felony charge of theft. She could face up to 20 years in prison if convicted.

Koehmstedt was an accountant for Riverside Plumbing in Fargo when she allegedly stole the money, according to a criminal complaint. Records given to investigators by Riverside owner Jeremy Johnson suggested the theft happened between July 2020 and June 2022, the complaint said.

A fraud audit showed $96,604 was paid to AT&T, Glitter and Tees, and Seven O One, the complaint said.

Koehmstedt was booked Thursday into the Cass County Jail.

The jilted lover and ex-handyman accused in the horrific slaying of the Queens married mother of two Orsolya Gaal will not testify before the grand jury due to the charges against him, his lawyer told the judge.

David Bonola, 44, was marched into Queens Supreme Court in orange prison garb Tuesday with his long curly brown hair tied back and a mask partially covering his face.

The handcuffed Bonola did not utter a word as the female translator spoke to him in Spanish and his lawyer addressed the judge.

‘Mr. Bonola will not be testing before a grand jury. We withdraw from their request for him to appear before a grand jury,’ Attorney David Strom from Queens Defenders said.

Bonola, who is from Mexico, had been living in the US for the last 21 years. Police said he had been living in New York in violation of immigration law before the gruesome murder

The former handyman was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree evidence tampering and fourth-degree weapon possession in relation to the brutal murder, a report said.

Bonola allegedly admitted to stabbing Gaal more than 58 times before stuffing her body in a duffel bag and dragging it down her residential Forest Hills street in the early morning hours of April 16.

He made his purported confession when questioned by police, making incriminating statements after voluntarily going to the police station amid the investigation.

Bonola was obsessed with New York City crime and how to seduce women, according to his YouTube channel.

One week before the murder, the suspect updated his playlist by saving videos including one titled: ‘7 Mindsets that Attract Women Like Crazy.’

Some of the tips were how to attract beautiful woman and make ‘you become unstoppable with women… without you really having to do anything.’

Bonola did not upload videos himself, but instead saved a series of clips that he liked onto a playlist on his YouTube account, which is publicly visible.

Other videos Bonola saved included titles like ‘Pickup and first date confidence’ and ‘how to go down on a woman’

Additional videos on his playlist were sexually graphic in nature, while others dealt with topics such as: ‘How to deal with a relationship when a woman is just not that into you;’ ‘How you know you are with a Hungarian woman;’ ‘Male magnetic mindset that drives women wild.

His YouTube channel shows he saved thousands of shooting, rapes and murders, on curated playlists, including 754 videos of local news reports of violent crimes, The New York Post reported.

Some of the stabbing videos were eerily similar to the brutal slaying on the Queens mother. One of his videos shared the news report of Amie Harwick, a former sex therapist, who reportedly sought two restraining orders against ex-boyfriend before her February 2020 murder in Hollywood, the news outlet said

The married mother of two, had stayed behind with her 13-year-old son, while her husband, Howard Klein, was traveling out-of-state with their older son

Gaal had hired Bonola to do handyman work in her Forest Hills home. The pair had been having an on-off affair for two years before he allegedly murdered her with a kitchen knife in her basement during the early hours of April 16, while her 13-year-old son was upstairs.

Surveillance footage captured just hours after her murder showed Bonola walking along 114th Street near his apartment in Richmond Hill, just after 6am.

He is seen with bandage wrapped around his left hand as he makes his way down the street before heading into his apartment.

The day of the killing, Bonola allegedly headed to a CityMD in order to receive help for cuts on his hands. He was referred to Bellevue Hospital after urgent care doctors said the wounds were too deep for them to treat.

Police said they received a call around 8.10am on Saturday for a report of ‘a suspicious bag with blood on it at the corner of Metropolitan Avenue and Jackie Robinson Parkway in Forest Hills.’ The bag held Gaal’s body.

Cops then followed a trail of blood left by the dragged bag, leading back to Gaal’s home. They found son, Leo, inside unscathed and took him in for questioning, putting him in handcuffs, before letting him go later that day.

Gaal’s husband Howard Klein and her older son Jamie, who had been on the West Coast, rushed back. They have not been seen or heard from since.

He had reportedly gone over to the home in an attempt to resurrect the affair as the relationship had come to ‘the end’.

Bonola later confessed to the heinous crime after being spotted by police days after the murder.

Police sources told the New York Post that he was very ‘matter of fact,’ and that he proceeded to eat a bagel with cream cheese as if nothing had happened

‘It was very matter of fact, very thorough, he answered every question they had,’ a police source told the newspaper. At no point did he request a lawyer.

The day of Bonola’s arrest he screamed: ‘F**k you motherf****r!’ when a group of reporters asked him why he killed Gaal.

Bonola has been living in the US illegally after moving from Mexico 20 years ago. His estranged wife and children are believed to live in Queens with him.

NYPD detectives declined to comment on Bonola’s immigrant status but ICE has now filed a detainer with Queens Central Booking, where he is being held.

It is unclear if he will face additional charges related to his immigration status.

Bonola will next court appearance will be May 10, according to the Queens District Attorney’s office.

‘She seemed like a very lovely lady, she didn’t deserve this at all.’

That’s what accused killer Stuart Paul Anderson told a reporter about the woman he’s accused of brutally beating to death.

There was a widespread appeal for information in the days and weeks after the body of his 77-year-old neighbor Vicki Ramadan was found in her Sydenham home in Melbourne’s northwest on April 6, 2019.

‘I really hope the cops catch the son of a bitch,’ Anderson said in the interview with A Current Affair.

The unedited footage of that interview was played to jurors in Anderson’s Victorian Supreme Court murder trial on Tuesday.

He has pleaded not guilty to killing Mrs Ramadan sometime between March 23 and 25, 2019.

Witnesses told the jury they heard multiple arguments between them in the days before she was killed.

It was Anderson who called the police after finding her body.

He said he first met Mrs Ramadan when she knocked on his door and asked him to help her with some odd jobs.

A taxi drier saw the pair arguing about Anderson arriving late to help her with jobs on the morning of March 23, 2019.

Later another witness heard Anderson aggressively yelling at Mrs Ramadan, saying ‘f*** you, fix it yourself’ while assembling a flat pack before heading home. He later returned to her house.

Prosecutor Neill Hutton said there were signs of life on March 25 – a call from one of her phones to another at 9.30am and an electricity spike consistent with a hotplate at lunchtime.

Anderson told his partner he was going to check on Mrs Ramadan and pick up tools he left at her house about 9am on April 6.

He said he found her body after going through the back door, which had been kicked open.

Anderson stuck with that story during his first two police interviews but after officers became suspicious about his story he told them in August 2019 that he had lied because he actually found her body between 1.30am and 2am on April 6 after he himself knocked in her back door.

But the trouble with what Anderson told the reporter, his partner and police is that it’s false, prosecutor Neill Hutton said.

‘It’s essentially a sham, a charade. It’s false,’ he said.

Mrs Ramadan was known for wearing lots of jewellery, but that and cash was still inside her home, jurors heard.

Anderson’s barrister Glenn Casement said identity was an issue in the trial.

‘My client didn’t kill the deceased,’ he said.

The trial before Justice Amanda Fox is continuing.

He turned to Golden Home Services America for mortgage relief. An agreement lists his new interest rate at 1.8%.

That’s a savings of nearly $1,800 a month from his current monthly payment.

“We signed everything. I signed all the paperwork. Whatever they needed. My bank statement and everything,” he said.

Everything they told him was on track for approval.

“So we thought everything would be good because they promised $3,400 a month would be your payment,” Sharma said.

But after 14 months, final approval still hasn’t come.

Yet Golden Home Services America kept sending him a bill for more fees each month.

“Almost every month they were asking me for money and I was sending it to them. We’re close to about $20,000 I paid to them,” he said.

Suzanne Martindale is an attorney with the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, who filed the complaint along with the Federal Trade Commission.

“Consumers have forked out dollars up front for their services and all those results never materialized, never happens,” Martindale warned. “The complaint we have filed alleges these fees may be illegal.”

A Woodland man faces assault and unlawful firearms possession charges after he allegedly shot a man in July who performed work for him.

Joseph Ralls, 82, was scheduled for an arraignment hearing in Clark County Superior Court on Sept. 20. He faces charges of first-degree assault and three counts of second-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.

Ralls was initially scheduled for an arraignment on Sept. 13 though he did not appear at the time of the hearing. According to court documents, he appeared an hour later and the court moved to reschedule.

During Ralls’ first court appearance on Sept. 7 he was granted supervised release and was ordered to wear a GPS device due to medical conditions, according to court records.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Woodland police officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Island Aire Drive to respond to a shooting at around 3:16 pm on July 27. Officers were told someone had been shot but had left in a pickup truck.

On arrival, officers found the resident of the home, Ralls, down on the wheelchair ramp to his residence. Ralls told officers a burglar tried to enter his home. He refused medical treatment and went to the Woodland Police Department to talk with officers.

At 3:30 pm that day, officers learned a shooting victim had arrived at the Cowlitz Tribal Police Station on the tribal reservation, the affidavit stated. The victim, identified as Kenneth Aguilar, 32, told officers he had gone to Ralls’ residence to collect money Ralls owed him when he was shot.

An officer responding to the residence saw an “obvious” bullet hole through a window to the right of the front door, the affidavit stated. Ralls told officers he fell out of his wheelchair and dropped a gun under a skirting panel at the bottom of the ramp.

In an interview, Ralls said Aguilar worked as a handyman for Ralls for a few months and believed Aguilar was using drugs, according to the affidavit. Ralls said Aguilar had harassed Ralls’ wife for weeks while Ralls was in the hospital.

Ralls said Aguilar demanded $100 from his wife. Aguilar reportedly did not accept the $25 the woman offered him for what she believed they owed him, the affidavit stated. Ralls said he was defending his home when he shot Aguilar through the window, who had been standing outside on the wheelchair ramp.

“Ralls said more than once he wished he had been a better shot,” the affidavit stated.

He could not explain a specific threat Aguilar made toward his wife.

Ralls told officers he was a convicted felon which prohibited him from owning a firearm, the affidavit stated, and that the gun was his wife’s. He said he went outside after shooting at Aguilar, after which his motorized wheelchair tipped over at the bottom of the ramp.

During the interview, Ralls “said something to the effect that Aguilar was a ‘tweaker that needed to be put down,'” according to the affidavit.

Ralls’ wife told a similar story to officers, the affidavit stated. She also could not recall a specific threat from Aguilar and stated he made no attempt to get into the residence.

Officers executing a search warrant recovered the firearm, which was a revolver, the affidavit stated. Ralls was confirmed to have been convicted of a felony in the 1980s.

Aguilar received surgery to remove a bullet from his upper-right chest at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center and was expected to make a full recovery, according to the affidavit.

Ralls was not initially booked by officers due to his age and health, the affidavit stated. He was later issued a summons to appear in court on Sept. 7, according to court documents.

In closing arguments in Sonoma County court Tuesday, prosecutors began their last attempt to convince the jury that two North Bay men worked together to violently kidnap and rape a San Francisco woman waiting for a rideshare in 2018.

Defense attorneys, though, countered that the woman’s drunken state, inconsistent statements and lapses in memory were enough to call her reliability into question — and cast doubt on the accusations made against their clients.

Fredi Lopez-Flores, 37, of Novato, and Christian Quintero, 27, of Sonoma, sat side-by-side as they listened on Tuesday to Deputy District Attorney Matthew Hubley’s closing arguments. The pair have been using headphones to listen as interpreters convey court testimony to them in Spanish.

They are each charged with six crimes in connection with the early morning assault on April 14, 2018, including kidnapping, robbery and multiple counts related to rape. They could each be sentenced to life in prison if convicted.

Prosecutors have built their case around DNA evidence, the police investigation and the emotional testimony of Jane Doe, as the accuser has been referred to in court. All of that together, prosecutors believe, proves that the men abducted, beat and raped the woman, who had been waiting for transportation to get back to her Richmond District home.

On Tuesday, they showed the jury a final piece of evidence — an assemblage of surveillance footage reconstructing the path of Lopez-Flores’ Dodge Magnum as it traveled from San Francisco to Sonoma.

“Even though you have an important decision ahead of you, this case will never truly be your case. This case belongs to Jane Doe,” Hubley told jurors. “It’s hard to watch Jane Doe’s testimony and not feel she at least blames herself in part in some way. You as members of the jury have an incredible opportunity to help Jane Doe understand, ‘This is not your fault.’ ”

Nicholas Sandler, Quintero’s attorney, focused on the inconsistencies in Jane Doe’s memory of the incident.

He reminded the jury that she first told police the Uber driver had raped her and then, three times, she failed to identify the two defendants in photo lineups.

Gabriel Quinnan, Lopez-Flores’ lawyer also focused on contradictions in the woman’s statements to police and in her court testimony about having “blacked out” that night.

He reiterated his client’s tearful testimony that he did not intervene in Quintero’s violence because the man had threatened him with a gun

Quinnan also rehashed the results of DNA analysis on sperm samples left on the woman’s body and found on the interior of her clothes, which showed that they were a much greater match to Quintero than Lopez-Flores.

“We do not contest the broad-brush strokes,” Quinnan said. “It was clear she was raped. It was clear she was beaten. It was clear she was left on the streets of Sonoma.”

But, the specifics of the incident are not clear, and that is enough to acquit Lopez-Flores, Quinnan argued.

“Fredi is no hero in this story,” he said. “But it is absolutely the law that we are not required by law to be a hero.”

Also on Tuesday, Judge Christopher Honigsberg instructed jury members on how they are to reach their verdict.

In order to find the men guilty on any of the counts, the jury must believe beyond a reasonable doubt that the men intentionally committed these crimes.

Prosecutors will address the jury Wednesday morning before it convenes for deliberation.

FERNANDINA BEACH, Fla. – The Fernandina Beach Police Department announced an arrest in connection with the mysterious death of beloved pet sitter Colleen Potts.

On Oct. 24, 73-year-old Potts was sitting on the dog at a house on 13th Street when she was murdered, police said.

When the police got to the house, the garage door and inner door were wide open and the dogs were loose. Potts was found dead on the couch, according to police.

On December 16, Fernandina Beach police and the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office served search warrants at a home in Fernandina Beach. The results of the search warrants, as well as the additional evidence uncovered during the investigation, led to the arrest of Shawn Lamont Wigham.

Police said Wigham was a local tradesman and was familiar with the area and the residence’s owner.

According to officials, Potts died from a single gunshot wound. They didn’t want to state where she was shot.

Officials also said that Wigham had broken into Pott’s car the night before and that her purse was missing from the home when it was found.

Wigham was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, murder and burglary, according to the FBPD.

According to Fernandina Beach’s assistant chief, Wigham’s previous crime involved the sale and supply of cocaine in Nassau County.
