Levens, born to Southern Pacific Railroad employee LJ Kinney and his wife Jean, was the first baby born in Tucson, Arizona in 1929. The Chamber of Commerce gave her mother practical baby items and gave Marie a tiny baby ring that fit her perfectly. That ring now dangles from a charm bracelet along with other reminders of eight decades of a charmed life. The bracelet, family photos, and scraps of fabric left over from years of sewing for her family—most of which were made into quilts for her adult children—show Marie as active and curious, blessed with generosity and grace under fire. Over the years, she added travel charms to her bracelet: from Germany, a cuckoo clock, a chimney sweep and a tiny beer mug; Delft Dutch shoes and a windmill from Holland; a sterling silver tank from the Officer's Wives Club at Fort Knox, Kentucky; and a cable car in San Francisco. A pendant from the seagull statue in Salt Lake City commemorates the last cross-country trip with her first husband, Ralls C. Acker, Jr. A bead encased in gold wire commemorates a trip with her second husband, Al, to the USS Arizona memorial in Pearl Harbor. At Sequoia High School in Redwood City, California, Marie served as a majorette and stick lathe operator, teaching younger children to twirl. Marie was also on the yearbook team and went on to study journalism at San Jose State College. Marie met her first future husband when he was going to school on the GI Bill. Although writing has always been Marie's passion, she also dabbled in other esoteric talents, such as working as a magician's assistant, but fortunately chose not to pursue a career that might result in her being cut in half with a chainsaw. At the time, it was not uncommon for college girls to earn an “MRS” degree instead of a bachelor's degree, which she did, and over the next eighteen years Marie showed a knack for logistics, resilience, and good humor, raising happy children large USA and Europe with her husband, an army officer. When her first marriage ended, Marie was working at the Westinghouse Corporation in Sunnyvale, California, and was quickly promoted from an administrative position to a technical position typically filled by engineers. She met her second husband, Elbert E. “Al” Levens, at Westinghouse. They married in 1971 and built a quiet weekend home in the foothills of California's Gold Country. After retirement, Marie and Al moved there and planned and enjoyed trips to unexplored ghost towns, the Sonoran Desert, the East Coast, the Canadian Rockies and Hawaii. Marie and Al moved to Sun City Roseville in 1997, where they made new friends and participated in many community activities. After Al passed away in 2001, Marie gradually resumed her active life with golf, billiards, mah-jongg and bridge. She volunteered at the Sutter Roseville Hospice Thrift Store and supported local and national charities. Marie wrote a column for one club in Sun City – once a journalist, always a journalist – and served as treasurer for another. Marie entered eternal rest on February 3, 2016. She is survived by son Robert Acker, daughter Christine Acker and son-in-law Peter Alvarado, all of Seattle; Douglas Kenyon of Morgan Hill, Calif., his wife, Kim, and their two children; David Kenyon of San Jose, Calif., his wife, Nancy, and their daughter; Donald Kenyon of Anchorage, AK, and his wife, Lori; niece Barbara Brown of San Jose, her husband Paul and their two children; Donald Kelsey of Danville, Calif., and his wife, Collette. Marie will also be remembered by her late husband Al's adult children: Wendy Levens of Winnabow, North Carolina, and her son; David Levens of Cupertino, California, his wife Pam and their daughter. The agreements are made privately. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.

MIAMI, Feb. 15, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Ehave, Inc. (OTC Pink: EHVVF) (the “Company”), a leading healthcare services and technology company, announced today that its wholly-owned subsidiary, KetaDASH, commenced Clinical operations, offering in-home ketamine therapy to patients suffering from treatment-resistant mental health issues. Initially, the treatment will be offered in the San Francisco Bay Area and Greater Sacramento Area with plans to expand to other markets in the coming months. KetaDASH is a managed service organization focused on the psychedelic mental health sector with the mission of helping physicians streamline their practice operations, create new revenue opportunities, and achieve better patient outcomes.

KetaDASH treatments will be conducted by a team of experienced nurses who will come to your home, office, or mobile location after initial telemedicine screening and provide a complete ketamine experience, with a focus on set and setting, with packages that include telemedicine integration with psychotherapists . This innovative service departs from in-clinic intravenous treatment or unsupervised telehealth models to an at-home ketamine administration with telehealth and in-person medical supervision. A typical KetaDASH experience incorporates a prescribing doctor, a nurse for administration and monitoring, and psychotherapists for integration, all from the comfort of the patient’s home.

Story continues

Jeffrey D. Kamlet, MD, FASAM, DABAM, Chief Medical Officer of Ehave, said, “I have over-seen over 600 successful ketamine treatments and have been amazed by the positive results. We are pleased to begin our US rollout in Sacramento and San Francisco, with plans to scale our business in other cities over the coming months. Even though ketamine is a relatively safe drug to administer, we have made patient safety our top priority. As such, KetaDASH treatments begin with a telehealth med screen and then treatments will be conducted by a team of experienced nurses who will come to your home, office, or mobile location and administer your session. Post ketamine therapy will be available and is recommended. We believe this will give our clients the confidence in knowing they are receiving the utmost support throughout their treatment experience. This pioneering approach is a departure from ketamine telehealth models, which mail prescriptions and do not provide in-person support or guidance during the psychedelic experience.”

Ketamine therapy has turned out to be a life-changing alternative to antidepressants for many patients. The Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, a non-profit research and educational organization, claimed, “There has been a recent explosion of interest in ketamine, a synthetic chemical with powerful antidepressant and visionary properties.”

Ketamine is an FDA approved drug that has been used for over 50 years as a safe dissociative anesthetic that is now being studied as a treatment for major depression. In certain psychiatric conditions, such as treatment-resistant depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and alcohol abuse, ketamine has shown very encouraging results.

Completing day-to-day activities are often challenging for patients with mental health disorders. For patients who suffer from depression and post-traumatic stress disorder, symptoms such as fatigue, social isolation, lack of motivation, and high levels of anxiety are frequent. Unfortunately, many of the patients who suffer from these mental health issues find it difficult to go to a physical clinic. By providing this treatment at the patient’s home, office, or mobile location, KetaDASH intends to broaden access to this important therapy.

Ben Kaplan, CEO of Ehave, said, “For patients with mental health disorders, the need for more effective treatment options is greater now than it ever has been in the past. When used at sub-anesthetic doses, ketamine has proven effective in treating many psychiatric disorders. KetaDASH will provide better access to this treatment for a larger patient population in a safe and convenient way. Through our KetaDASH mobile clinics, patients will benefit from receiving the ketamine therapy in the privacy and comfort of their own homes. Patient safety is our top priority, so all ketamine treatments will be delivered by certified medical professionals. The KetaDASH platform will utilize proprietary software developed by Ehave which will allow patients and their associated nurses to view detailed reports on the ketamine therapy’s progress.”

KetaDASH is also available to ketamine clinics and qualified patients whose healthcare provider has prescribed it as a treatment. Qualified patients, doctors, and clinics are invited to visit KetaDash.com for more information.

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF / CBS Sacramento) – A young boy who was abducted Friday night in Sacramento – and set off an amber alarm in the East Bay – was found safe early Saturday morning in Hayward with the alleged perpetrator who abducted him.

A yellow alarm was raised on Friday evening in Alameda and Contra Costa counties for the child, three-year-old Leo Norvell, after being abducted from Sacramento just before 5 p.m. on Friday.

The suspect is 30-year-old Joshua Yago, who, according to the CHP, should be considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities posted on Twitter that the child was found safe shortly before 3 a.m.

** The AMBER Alert has been deactivated. The child has been located. ** https://t.co/p4BPV5gyey

Authorities did not initially say whether Yago had also been found, but Sacramento police confirmed shortly after 8 a.m. that he and the boy had been found and taken into custody in Hayward. Police said they are working to reunite the boy with his family.

UPDATE: Both Yago and Norvell were found together in Hayward this morning by the Hayward Police Department. The amber alarm has been canceled and Norvell is safe and in good health. Efforts to reunite Norvell with his family will be coordinated. https://t.co/SicJsQZbnl

– Sacramento Police Department (@SacPolice) November 13, 2021

According to the Sacramento Police Department, Yago is the suspect in a double shootout that injured a man and a woman on Friday at Block 3900 on 63rd Street.

Norvell is the child of the female victim. According to police, Yago and Norvell know each other.

The victims of the shooting did not receive life-threatening gunshot wounds.

Police said Yago will be charged with the kidnapping and previous shooting. The investigation into the crimes remains active.

SACRAMENTO (CBS / AP) – Just a week before she and 12 other US soldiers were killed in a suicide bombing, Sgt. Nicole Gee was cradling a baby in her arms at Kabul airport.

She posted the photo on Instagram and wrote, “I love my job.”

Sgt.Nicole Gee holds a baby at Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul, Afghanistan. Sgt. Gee from Sacramento was killed in a bomb attack in Kabul, Afghanistan on Thursday. (U.S. Department of Defense via Twitter)

Gee, 23, of Sacramento was one of four Californians killed in the bombing of Kabul airport, where people were evacuated during the Taliban takeover. The blast killed 169 Afghans and 13 US soldiers, including 11 Marines.

Lance complete with Dylan Merola, 20, from Rancho Cucamonga; Complete Hunter Lopez, 22, from Indio; and Lance Cpl. Norco’s Kareem Mae’Lee Grant Nikoui was also killed.

Gee was a maintenance technician with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Sgt. Mallory Harrison, who lived with Gee for three years and called her a “forever sister” and best friend, wrote a moving account of the extent of her loss.

“I can’t quite describe the feeling I get when I force myself to go back to reality and think about how I’ll never see it again,” Harrison wrote on Facebook. “How her last breath was taken to do what she loved – to help people. … Then there was an explosion. And just like that, she’s gone. “

Gee’s Instagram page features another photo of her in work clothes holding a rifle next to a line of people going into the belly of a large transport plane. She wrote: “Escort evacuees to the bird.”

The social media account, which contains many selfies after a workout at the gym, lists their location as California, North Carolina, and “Somewhere Abroad”.

Photos show her on a camel in Saudi Arabia, in a bikini on a Greek island and with a beer in Spain. One from earlier this month in Kuwait shows her radiant with her meritorious promotion to sergeant.

Harrison said their generation of Marines hear war stories from veterans of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, but they seem very aloof in the midst of boring missions until “the peaceful chariot you were on turns into … your friends, that never come home. “

Gee’s car was still in a parking lot at Camp Lejeune, and Harrison pondered over all the marines who had passed him while she was overseas without knowing who it belonged to.

“Some of them knew her. Some of them don’t, ”she said. “Everyone walked past it. The war stories, the casualties, the flag-hung coffins, the KIA wristbands and the heartache. It’s not that far away anymore. ”
