Two MLB players and an ESPN broadcaster were among the buyers of metro Phoenix’s priciest houses to sell during the last week of March. Cody Bellinger of the Chicago Cubs bought the most expensive home, paying $9 million for a place in the popular Arcadia neighborhood.

Cody Bellinger, an outfielder and first baseman with the Chicago Cubs, paid cash for a 7,173-square-foot modern ranch-style home in the Phoenix side of Arcadia. The main house has five bedrooms, five bathrooms, a kids’ playroom, air-conditioned garages, a gym and massage room, a two-bedroom guesthouse, batting cages, a turf yard, a heated pool, an outdoor bathroom and a sports court. Andrea and Douglas Perry were the sellers.

San Francisco Giants pitcher Logan Webb and his wife Sharidan bought a 5,488-square-foot Paradise Valley house with four bedrooms and six bathrooms. The home also has a large media room, an office, a temperature-controlled wine room with space for 600 bottles, a sunken gazebo, an outdoor kitchen and a rooftop deck. Joe and Theresa Harlan sold it.

ESPN sports commentator Sean McDonough purchased a new 4,500-square-foot Scottsdale house with four bedrooms and five bathrooms near the Phoenician golf course at the base of Camelback Mountain. The home comes with an office, a loft, a butler’s pantry, pocket doors to the outside, a wet bar and an outdoor fireplace. Ascent Builders sold it. Scott Grigg of Grigg’s Group Powered by The Altman Brothers had the listing.

James and Summer Rasmussen of Oregon bought a 5,252-square-foot Paradise Valley house with four bedrooms and 4 ½ bathrooms. The French county-style home has views of Camelback and Mummy mountains, a spacious office, a large lap pool, a putting green and an outdoor fireplace. Frank and Stacy Gerber were the sellers.

Cactus Acres LLC of Wisconsin paid cash for a 4,796-square-foot house with three bedrooms and six bathrooms located on 10 acres in north Scottsdale. The house has a circular driveway, retractable glass doors, an outdoor kitchen, fire features, a barn area with seven stalls for horses and a huge storage building with a bathroom. Denise Bixler sold it.
