Mr. Rooter® Plumbing of Santa Cruz showed their support for breast cancer awareness by donning pink shoe covers the entire month of October.
Mr. Rooter Plumbing technicians slip on a pair of shoe covers prior to entering a home or business as a way of showing respect and keeping carpets clean.
However, during the month of October, ShuBee®, the creators of the pink shoe covers, and Mr. Rooter® Plumbing teamed up to not only respectfully enter the home or business, but also to raise awareness of breast cancer research.
Five percent of the total sales for both the original and pink ShuBee shoe covers through the end of October were donated to a nominated “breast cancer warrior or organization” through ShuBee’s Covered for the Cause fund.
“This year we have sold over $100,000 in breast cancer awareness pink ShuBees and pink nitrile gloves, which translates to a donation of over $5,000 with more than a week to go,” said Brian Chestnut, a sales consultant at ShuBee.
Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Santa Cruz is committed to spreading awareness in the community. “Each year we look forward to showing our support for breast cancer research and raising awareness locally by wearing these pink shoe covers,” said Michelle Allioti, franchisee owner of Mr. Rooter of Santa Cruz.
“The pink shoe covers are our small way of showing our dedicated support for women going through daily treatment,” said Mary Kennedy Thompson, president of Mr. RooterPlumbing. “This cancer affects so many people we know and every contribution – small and large – helps in finding the cure”
