SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (KRON) – A terrifying ordeal caught on camera in San Francisco – A man with a large knife was seen chasing another man down the street near Jefferson Square Park.

A knife hunt took place in broad daylight. The victim, a software engineer, says the attack was not provoked and he had to run for life.

In a short but breathtaking video, an unknown man is caught with a large knife chasing another man who is running away.
“It was really scary, it was like time was slowing down and you were wondering,” Is this really going to happen? “Doesn’t seem real,” Skylar Givens said.
Skylar Givens says his attacker is homeless and recently took over an area across from his family’s home.
While Givens and his wife were walking their dog on Tuesday afternoon, the unidentified man lying on the sidewalk became aggressive and pulled the gun out of his pocket.
“He pulled out that big knife. It was about 10 or 12 inches and luckily I had a taser with me and ended up firing the taser at him so I could escape and run away quickly, ”Givens said.
The high-voltage shocks heard on the video were not enough to prevent the man from approaching. Givens was forced to walk behind a security gate in his home.

“If I hadn’t reacted like that, I might very well have been stabbed,” said Givens.
Givens says the attacker was arrested shortly after the police arrived.
After living and working in San Francisco for nearly a decade, Givens has recently seen a surge in homeless camps and drug use in his neighborhood.
He fears that people who enjoy the park will encounter a similar nightmare and may not be able to defend themselves.
“I feel a little more insecure than before because I’ve been walking around all day. It’s something I think about all the time and I won’t be able to go outside again without thinking about it, ”said Givens.
We reached out to the San Francisco Police Department for more information about this attack – they have not yet responded.
Givens says he and his wife are so shaken that they are seriously considering moving out of San Francisco.
