After a long year of pandemic recovery and inflation surging, a handful of businesses were able to expand into the West Valley. Los Gatos welcomed several new businesses just last month and has a few more restaurants and stores in the works.
Warby Parker
Warby Parker, a retailer of eyeglasses, sunglasses and contacts, opened in Old Town this week. The brand launched in 2010 as an online-only retailer, but now has approximately 190 store locations.
The shop, located at 50 University Ave., is the 26th location in California.
Blue Bottle Coffee
The long-awaited Blue Bottle Coffee opened its doors in August at Old Town, featuring a sleek Silicon Valley-inspired design from architect Lincoln Lighthill.
The Oakland-founded coffee group offers espresso drinks and pour-overs, as well as grab-and-go foods like avocado toast, breakfast sandwiches, pastries, waffles and egg bites.
This is the 25th Bay Area location and the fourth cafe in Santa Clara County.
Design by Mish
Design by Mish, a classic farmhouse and coastal furniture design store, opened last month.
The store, located at 143 E. Main St., hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony on Sept. 14. It offers a signature furniture collection, unique vintage pieces, custom-made furniture and restored and reclaimed pieces.
Hercules Draft House & Cantina
Los Gatos’ newest Mexican restaurant, at the former Flight’s location at 165 Saratoga-Los Gatos Road, opened its doors earlier this month.
Chef Beltran Reyes has whipped up an exciting menu featuring house-made corn tortillas and quesabirraia tacos.
The restaurant hosted a soft opening last week and is open Tuesday-Friday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
