San Francisco Police Officer Jack Nyce Refuses COVID-19 Vaccination, Dies on Go away

A San Francisco police officer on leave for failing to follow a vaccination order died less than a week after testing positive for COVID-19. The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Officer Jack Nyce, 46, died Saturday after being diagnosed with coronavirus last Tuesday. He died the same day he was hospitalized, his wife said. Nyce, a 17-year veteran with the department, “leaves a void that will be difficult to fill,” the San Francisco Police Officers Association said in a statement. An association official confirmed that Nyce was one of 41 officials put on 30-day administrative leave after missing the city’s vaccination deadline. Officials in the city who still refuse to do the job until November 13 will be given unpaid leave.
