Three Drown In In style Tuolumne County Gods Tub Swimming Gap – CBS San Francisco

TUOLOMNE (CBS SF / AP) – The dive crews return to the troubled waters of Gods Bath Swimming Hole on Saturday to search for the body of a victim who drowned with two companions on Friday.
The Tuolomne County sheriff’s office said a woman and another person were pulled out of the water on Friday and pronounced dead at the scene.

“When the fire brigade, paramedics and MPs arrived on site, they were able to confirm three drowning victims,” wrote the sheriff on his agency’s Facebook page.
On Saturday morning, the department released a follow-up: “After speaking with local witnesses and family members, we discovered that two men had drowned. We would like to express our condolences to the families of the victims. “
The search for the third victim was suspended late Friday “due to dark and visibility problems”.

The sheriff’s office said his search and rescue team, a diving team, and a California Highway Patrol helicopter were helping with the search.
The swimming hole is a deep pool near a waterfall on the Clavey River in the Stanislaus National Forest, northeast of Yosemite National Park.
The popular but rugged swimming hole is surrounded by boulders and ledges. Swimmers can jump into the pool from them.
